The 55 (or there abouts) albums that made up the letter 'A' were a bit of a roller coaster ride. I give you my top ten, plus at the end a little thank you to a few albums that were introduced to me through this. I just want to show that it isn't all crap even though I do say that alot.
10. Antichrist Superstar - Marilyn Manon: Alot going on behind the makeup and theatrics. I think this can teach people not to judge a book by its cover.
9. Ace of Spades - Motorhead: I only partially had this album so I went and got the rest. I thoroughly enjoy it. Full of sex and guitars. Motorhead was more than just Ace of Spades, sounding more punk at times. I would recommend this album to anyone.
8. All Things Must Past - George Harrison: I am not pissed that I cannot find my CD anymore. This was George's vindication to all the world and why so many people loved him.
7. Are You Experienced - The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Awesome album full of alot of hits. I guess that is why it feel a little for me, it doesn't feel like an actual album.
6. At Folsom Prison - Johnny Cash: I agreed with the statement a man at the top of his game. Good country grit and I think humanizes prison life a little bit. They are still people, too.
5. ..And Justice For All - Metallica: My second favorite Metallica album. Long songs and alot of rage against the travesties of our world.
4. Axis: Bold as Love - The Jimi Hendrix Experience: To me this is the better album. The experimentation is better. I think you hear alot more of Jimi's heart in songs like Little Wing & Castles Made of Sand. Plus it feels more like a cohesive album.
3. American IV: The Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash: The final swan song from an American hero. Sad, moving, enlightening, all these things and more.
2. Appetite for Destruction - Guns N Roses: I don't think I have heard as good of an album released in the 20 years since. Top to bottom, I love the 'other' tracks on this if you could call them that. Mr. Brownstone, Night Train, You're Crazy!
1. Abbey Road - The Beatles: I am actually listening to it right now. A complete album and at often times my favorite from the Beatles. You experience the range of emotions and song styles all through this thing. She's so heavy is probably one of the darkest songs they ever made. The 'B' side medley is still amazing. I am not sure I could describe this album properly to someone who had never heard of it. It defines most words.
I also wanted to say that I took a chance on Apocalypse Dudes by Tubronegro since I had some of the their other songs. It is a good album with some tongue in check humor that I love. Any band that puts out a song titled 'Don't Say Motherf**ker, Motherf**ker' is alright with me.

I thought picking 1 through 6 or 7 was pretty easy. Once I got towards the ends, I had about a half dozen albums that were all about the same.
